Hop Infused Oil
We jarred some of our wet cascade hops to create a hop-lovers dream:
WET HOP INFUSED COOKING OIL!!!
We chose cascade because of its citrus and floral character and thought that would pair nicely with a variety of different foods. The oil has been infusing for a little over a month and gives off a nice earthy hop aroma & taste without the bittering aspects. i.e. this stuff is going to taste GREAT.
You asked for some recipes ideas for our Cascade-Infused Oil, so here ya go!
1. Greek Quinoia with a Cascade-Lemon Vinaigrette
Ingredients: cucumbers, red onion, garbonzo beans, cheery tomatoes, baby spinach, minced garlic, salt, pepper
Other recipe ideas!
Baguette dipping oil, Sauteed mushrooms with hop-infused oil, drizzle the hop-infused oil over fresh tomato/mozzarella/basil (caprese), sky's the limit!
Did I mention I had help this morning while experimenting with recipes? Yes, my furry BFF stepped up and volunteered right away.
BUT this time he didn't get to sample the goods. Did you know that hops are poisonous to dogs? This is our daily Public Service Announcement to all of you dog lovers out there. Keep your hops out of reach of your furry BFF, if a dog eats hops it can be fatal (as well as many other people foods!). I know my furry sidekick loves cheese, so he got a handful of that instead. And all was right with the world.
